WhatsApp is currently testing a new feature that allows users to pin and manage channels in iOS. WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is testing new features in order to improve user experience. The company has been testing the ability to pin and manage channels in the iPhone app. According to WABetaInfo the beta feature will be released in the iOS Beta “24.14.10.78”. The feature is currently in beta testing, and testers are able to update their app using TestFlight. The platform had previously tested a similar feature for Android, where you could pin up to 2 channels in the Updates tab. This feature is also available for iPhone testers. According to the screenshot shared in the article, beta users are able to pin two channels within the iOS testing build.
When accessing additional options, the ‘Pin option’ appears on the extreme left next to Read’. While accessing additional options, the ‘More” and ‘Unmute” buttons continue to appear on the right. By limiting the number of channels to two, it makes the interface less cluttered. This can also make it easier to access useful information.
News tracker
News tracker predicted that the option of adding more channels to the news feed may be available in the future. The feature is useful even in its current state. It can save users time and improve the Updates tab experience. Users can read or follow the updates easily to stay up to date with the latest activities. Users can also manage channels, marking them unread or unmuted for increased accessibility.
This feature allows users to perform bulk actions via the context menu. They can select multiple channels at once and take actions based on their available options. Users must update their beta apps through the TestFlight Beta program to try out the new enhancements.
